The Spring River Park and Zoo is owned and operated by the City of Roswell. It is the only free zoo in New Mexico offering youth (age 15 and under) a fishing lake, an antique carousel and miniature train that the kids and young at heart can ride, picnic facilities, playgrounds, and the eastern terminus of the Spring River Recreational Trail. A Longhorn Ranch, Prarie Dog Town and a Children’s Zoo can also be found in the park. The zoo features native and exotic animals and birds.
Rides on the antique carousel and miniature train are only $0.25 each. They are available to the public on weekends until school is out. They are open Wednesday through Sunday throughout the summer. Hours for the rides are 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
The zoo is open every day, weather permitting from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the winter and 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the summer.
